Original building, operated in 1945 under Jack Johnson, Jr.

• 1945 Softwater Service was founded by J. D. "Jack" Johnson, Jr., at 213 South First Street representing Servi-Soft of Rockford, Ill.

• 1946 Added Elgin Commercial units, selling to laundries.

• 1947 Added Lindsay units. Today, we are the oldest Lindsay Ecowater dealer in the United States.

• 1949 We became members of the Water Quality Association.
   

• 1955 Incorporated in the name of Softwater Services, Inc. We discontinued Servi-Soft in 1968, but continued using their equipment until 1985 when we installed all automatic units.

• 1972 Started selling pool chemicals at our store on South Third Street. At that time, we were the only chemical dealer in Ponca City.

• 1981 Opened Pool Services at 207 South Second Street, handling pool and spa chemicals, pool supplies, and services.

• 1988 Changed our company name to Quality Water Services, which is a division of Softwater Service, Inc. At one point, the company was purchasing its bottled water from two major processors, but in 1988, we installed our own bottled water plant and sold the product under "Just Squeezed" water.

• 1990 We became an International Bottled Water Association member.
  

• 1991 Changed the name to Quality Pools & Spas, which is a division of Softwater Service, Inc. In addition to pool supplies and services, we started working with above ground pools, spas, patio and backyard furniture.

• 1993 Introduced "Cowboy Springs" in five gallon and recently introduced 20 oz and 24 oz bottles. We also have water dispensers and DI units either by sale or lease. We currently are selling DI equipment to a National Photo lab concern.

• 1993 Downing Johnson purchased the present location at 115 East Highland and started remolding in June. We occupied the building in January 1995.

• 1994 Expanded to Stillwater, Oklahoma, with a second location serving the local and surrounding area's bottled water and water treatment needs.

• 1998 We became an Photo Marketing Association member.
   

• 2000 Moved Stillwater's location to it's current home, servicing both water treatment and recreational needs.

• 2004 Opened a new 5,400 square foot processing facility to meet our expanded bottled water market sales.

• 2005 On March 31, 2005, J. Downing Johnson III was presented the Water Quality Association highest honor: Lifetime Member Award.
